The true reason behind group policy client error & a better way to fix it !!

When you try to login into Windows 10 from a non admin account you may receive an error as following:

Group Policy Client Service failed the sign-in

this happens when you try to logon using a non admin account in addition to some applications or drivers that were installed with admin privileges before. these applications doesn't support to work in non-elevated environment. the most widely used solution is mentioned there https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2976660 which requires from you to directly edit your windows registry. a better way which makes you not to rush into editing your registry is to know which applications you've installed with admin privileges that cause this issue. then you have to ask yourself "does this application really require admin privileges?" . the most application category that causes this issue to so many people is third party web browsers. you will also find out that your issue is most probably caused by Google Chrome web browser which doesn't require administrative privileges to get installed. so all you just need is to uninstall google chrome then reinstall it & when you get prompted to administrative privileges, just click on cancel. google chrome will continue to install with non admin mode. this is also better for the security of your windows 10 machine. so if what causes this error to you is a web browser you don't have to give it a permission with admin. however, you may need what Microsoft published if it is a driver.

How to fix ZynOS vulnerability & prevent rom-0 access

This is an easy way to fix your router against rom-0 vulnerability. it can be applied to ZyNOS routers. I applied this solution to TP-Link TD-W8961ND router. it could be applied to the following list too:

TD-W8901G
TD-8816
TD-W8951ND
ZTE ZXV10 W300

rom-0 vulnerability was discovered by MrNasro. he suggested a solution but I think it is not applicable for the most devices as they don't provide a web interface to change this settings. another person (Piotr Bania) came with a different way to solve it. however it is almost impossible to apply as it requires (smart people only :) from you to open the router's case & to start reverse engineering the router's memory.

This vulnerability arise from the default settings of the firmware & it doesn't provide a way to change these settings from the web interface. luckily, the firmware does provide another access method to change the router's settings but it's not mentioned in the user manual. the second access method is the CLI which can be accomplished by using Putty or Telnet. here I used telnet from Windows. now you go with the following steps to prevent the flaw.

first you need to reset the router to factory default settings by pressing the reset button. you need to do this to ensure safe configuration for your router
go to the web interface of your router which can be accessed from 192.168.1.1 & update your router setting with your ISP information
under maintenance change the default password from admin to anything you want & don't forget it as you will need it later on.
open cmd & type the following commands line by line

4	TP-LINK> sys server load
5	TP-LINK> sys server access ftp 1

9	TP-LINK> sys server access telnet 2
10	TP-LINK> sys server save
11	sys server: save ok

that's all you need & now your router is safe from rom-0 attack.

منع إختراق الراوتر المنزلي (TD-W8961ND)

تم إكتشاف ثغرة أمنية في معظم أجهزة الراوتر المنزلية، و قد تبين أن هناك هجوم شديد علي المنطقة من خلال هذه الثغرة الأمنية، فهذه الثغرة تمّكن المُخترِق من التحكم في جهاز الراوتر و إعدادته، حيث يقوم الراوتر بتوجيه الطلبات (web request) للشبكة إلي خادم مزيف، و بذلك يستطيع إقامة الإختراق الذي يسمي بـ (Man-in-the-middle)، و قد تم نشر الخبر في: http://thehackernews.com/2014/02/hackers-exploiting-router.html

و قد قام بإكتشاف ذلك المدوِّن (Nasro) في: http://rootatnasro.wordpress.com

و ذكر أن الحل يكمن في غلق الـ (port) رقم 80 للراوتر.

و الذي يمكن أن يكون للراوتر (TD-W8961ND) كما هو بالصورة.

و عليك أن تقوم بتغيير كلمة المرور الإفتراضية (admin) إلي شئ آخر

How to get Bazaar working with Launchpad in Windows & without any errors

Launchpad is a cool website that provide hosting services for open source projects. In order to work in launchpad hosted project you need an SSH key and a tool for SSH connection establishment. Such tool is not well integrated in WINDOWS as Linux platform. Fortunately, this tool exists and they are free & open source too :).

First step is that we need to generate an SSH key using a tool called putty (download the windows installer). After installation run puttygen.exe and click the generate button. PUTTYGEN will ask you to move your mouse around in the blank area to generate the key. Set your key pass-phrase. Click "Save public key" and choose a location to save it as filename.pub. Click "Save private key" and choose a secure location to save it as filename.ppk. Do not close Puttygen window just yet! Copy the public key from the Puttygen window then go to Launchpad page for adding the public key (the url look like https://launchpad.net/~USERNAME/+editsshkeys). Paste your SSH key under Add an SSH key.

Second step is to define certain environment variables. The first variable is BZR_SSH=plink as the following (pic-01)

. The second variable is to modify the PATH and to add the following line C:\Program Files\PuTTY; which will help Windows to locate the plink.exe program & to make it accessible via command prompt. The third variable is to create the ssh folder under the following path C:\Users\< username >\ by right clicking the directory & choosing New->Folder then type the name as '.ssh.' to get the folder as .ssh after that copy the public key then paste it in a text file named id_rsa.pub and save the file into the .ssh folder.

Third step is to establish the connection using Pageant. So Run Pageant aand make sure Pageant is running and RT+click the icon in the notification area. Add the private key you saved earlier (filename.ppk). This step is crucial if you want to connect to launchpad from a Windows PC.

Now you can use a tool like Tortoisebzr to push to Launchpad and avoid errors like 'bzr ERROR [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified'

الحل السحري لمشكلة الحرارة الزائدة في أنظمة اللينكس

يواجه مستدخمي أنظمة الليكنس مثل أبنتو (Ubuntu) و ديبيان (Debian) مشكلة الحرارة الزائدة الناتجة من المعالج و وقوف مرواح التبريد عن العمل، هذه المشاكل بدأت في الظهور مع النسخة 2.6.38 لنواة اللينكس (Linux Kernel)، فقد تم التعديل من هذا الإصدار في كود البرمجة ليعمل بكفاءة أكبر في أجهزة الحاسبات إلا أنه عاد بالسوء علي الحاسبات المحمولة و الهواتف و الحاسبات المنزلية، حيث يتم إستهلاك شديد للكهرباء و نتيجة زائدة للحرارة و فشل مرواح التبريد عن العمل نتيجة للضغط المتزايد عليها من العمل، و للأسف لم يتم حل هذه المشكلة حتي الأن من قبل المسؤولين عن نواة اللينكس و لكن هناك فريق قام بحل المشكلة ببرنامج يسهل التعامل معه و هو رائع لكل الأجهزة للمستخدم المنزلي و هو (Jupiter)، و للقيام بتحميله و تنصيبه علي الجهاز اتبع الأوامر التالية:

~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/jupiter

~$ sudo apt-get update

~$ sudo apt-get install jupiter

~$ jupiter

Openerp depends in many packages in-order to work on Ubuntu. The easiest way to install them is by using the following command:

sudo apt-get install <package name>

This is a list of the 24 packages needed for Openerp 6.1

Later on you can download the debian package from Openerp website and double click the icon to install it.

كيفية ترجمة أوبنيرب من خلال برنامج Poedit

قم بتحميل و تنصيب برنامج (Poedit) من خلال هذا الموقع http://www.poedit.net/download.php حسب نظام التشغيل المتوافق معك، أما إذا كنت تستخدم أوبنتو فيمكنك تنفيذ الأمر التالي من خلال الـ Terminal:

sudo apt-get install poedit

بعد الإنتهاء من إعداد و تنصيب برنامج Poedit قم بتحديد الملحقات البرمجية أو ما يعرف بالـ (Modules) الراغب في تعريبها و قم بتحميلها من خلال اللانشباد من علي الرابط التالي:

ثم قم بالتحميل ملف الترجمة ذو الإمتداد PO حيث يمكنك فتحه ببرنامج Poedit، أيضاً يجب عليك الإنضمام إلي لانشباد حيث أنه سيتم إرسال رابط التحميل للملف علي بريدك الإلكتروني.

بعد أن تقوم بتحميل الملف يمكنك فتحه بإستخدام برنامج Poedit و ذلك لإضافة الترجمة الخاصة بك.
