How to disable JavaScript in Acrobat Reader

According to PhishLabs a new vulnerability discovered in Adobe Acrobat Reader that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by using malicious PDF files. Attackers use JavaScript to execute their code which is supported by Acrobat Reader platform. Adobe Systems Inc. didn’t announce any fix till now therefore we will explain how to disable JavaScript in Adobe Acrobat in the following steps:

  • Open Adobe Reader and click on Edit --> Preferences….

  • Click on JavaScript from Categories menu then uncheck Enable Acrobat JavaScript.
